Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission is an active commission, having just completed a series of inventories on existing structures. The City of Hickory is a certified local government. The purpose of the HPC is to preserve and protect the heritage of the City through recognition of structures and landmarks that personify our history.

There are currently four historic districts as well as a number of existing individual structures on the National Register of Historic Places

Southwest Downtown Historic District

The commission meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday at 7:00 p.m  Agendas & Minutes
