Neighborhood and Business Associations

The City of Hickory has been working with citizens and neighborhoods for decades, and in the mid-1990s, the City of Hickory officially started a neighborhood association program.  There are nine neighborhood associations and one business association that are currently active in 2011.  The neighborhood associations include: Claremont, Forest Hills, Green Park, Highland, Kenworth, Mountain View, Oakwood/Hillcrest, Ridgeview, and West Hickory/Westmont.  Hickory Downtown Development Association is the active business association.

City staff serve as neighborhood liaisons to the groups and help provide them information about programs, events, projects and issues going on in the City and liaisons are available to answer questions or find answers to the questions.  Hickory Police officers attend all neighborhood meetings and give updates on happenings in their neighborhood.
