The Public Services Department consists of several divisions: Central Services, Building Services, Engineering, Fleet, Landscape Services, Recycling, Sanitation, Streets, Public Utilities, and Traffic.

If there is an emergency, such as a waterline break,tree across the road, or a dead animal in the road, please call Public Services at (828) 323-7500 during our normal hours of Monday through Friday from 7:00a.m. until 5:30p.m.  If you need assistance after normal hours, please call the Hickory Police Deparment at (828) 324-2060. They will notify emergency personnel who will respond as soon as possible.
