City staff has compiled an inventory of vacant and under-utilized buildings in the city of Hickory and its extra-territorial jurisdiction. This inventory provides essential information about vacant buildings to allow staff to effectively market these properties for occupancy or redevelopment. The inventory contains a photo and property information for each vacant building. Where available, real estate contact information is also included. GIS-based inventory also available
The vacant building inventory is also available as a planning layer on the City of Hickory's GIS site. After opening the GIS viewer, click the check box and circle next to vacant property to display the layer and make it active. When the layer is displayed and active users can identify vacant properties on the map and view property information. This layer also includes additional photos of each vacant building.
