Clement Blvd Update

Project start date: October 19, 2009

Estimated project completion date, weather permitting:  April 30, 2010

Update:

Feburary 2, 2010 - Roadway construction continues with the placement of concrete curb and gutter and asphalt at the intersection of 12th Street Drive, NW and Old Lenoir Road.  The retaining wall along 12th Street Drive, NW is 95 percent complete.  Work is progressing slowly due to winter weather conditions.  A segment of 12th Street Drive, NW, between 9th Avenue, NW and Old Lenoir Road (landmarks are between Hickory Business Furniture and the back side of Carolina Steel of the Carolinas to Old Lenoir Road) continues to be closed and weather permitting, should reopen by March 2010.  The travelling public is responding very well to detours and varying traffic patterns.

News Releases:

December 22, 2009 - Road closes temporarily as part of the Clement Boulevard project - Road Closure Map
October 23, 2009 - Construction begins on a roadway that will connect Clement Boulevard, NW and Old Lenoir Road
