Teens encouraged to attend Hickory Youth Council's annual Dialogue Circles Event back
Date of Record: February 15, 2010

Members of the Hickory Youth Council invite fellow high school students from across the Hickory community to participate in the seventh annual Dialogue Circles event on Thursday February 18th from 6-8 PM at the Highland Recreation Center, 1451 8th Street Drive, NE, Hickory. This year's topic is Teen Driving. There will be a presentation by the Hickory Police Department followed by small group discussions about the issue.

"We will have a discussion about how the issue of teen driving affects Hickory's Youth," said Hickory Youth Council Chair Georgia Titcomb, who is a senior at St. Stephens High School.  "The goal is to get to know fellow youth and to also come up with solutions to current issues affecting teen drivers."

"I encourage my peers to attend and bring a friend to this event to discuss an issue that affects many teens in the area," added Titcomb.

A complimentary pizza dinner will be served to participants.

If you have any questions about the event, please call Dave Leonetti, City of Hickory Planner and Youth Council Liaison at (828) 261-2227.
