The 2011 gardening season is just around the corner! Registration will get underway on Monday, January 10th. Past participants will have first priority for registration. City residents that are interested in purchasing a plot at Civitan Park, may go to the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, located at 1451 8th Street Drive NE, Monday-Friday, 9:00-4:30 to reserve and pay for a plot. Gardeners interested in the Taft Broome Park site may go to Ridgeview Recreation Center, located at 115 7th Street SW, to reserve and pay for a plot, Monday-Friday 1:00 pm-9:00 pm or Saturday 10:00 am-6:00 pm.

City of Hickory residents will have priority for registration from Monday, January 10th through Friday, February 4th. After this date, registration will be open to anyone.

 The Civitan site has been expanded from 84 square feet per plot (6x14) to 224 square feet per plot (14x16). The cost per plot for the Civitan site is $20.00 for City of Hickory residents and $40.00 for non City of Hickory residents.

Gardeners may purchase a maximum of one plot at Civitan Park due to the increased size.

 Cost for the Taft Broome site is $10.00 per plot for City of Hickory residents and $20.00 per plot for non City of Hickory residents. Gardeners may purchase a maximum of two plots at the Taft Broome site.

 Proof of residency is required at the time of registration.
