HICKORY - The Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) of Lenoir-Rhyne University raised more than $900 from their volleyball tournament on April 30. All the money raised will be donated toward the Zahra Baker All-Children's Playground.

"We were so thrilled to have found out this amazing total, and it greatly exceeded our expectations," said Jennifer Lambeth, member of SOTA.  "We also had an amazing turnout of both participants and spectators throughout the day."

Money was raised from team registration fees, pizza sales, the bake sale and private donations.

"SOTA is so thrilled to have been able to support the Kiwanis Clubs of Catawba County in their amazing efforts to create a place where all children, no matter their physical abilities, can enjoy a space together and do what kids do best which is play," said Lambeth.
