Information Technology Wireless Network
The City's wireless network is composed of 9 remote locations,
2 towers used to accumulate and redirect the signals and 1
at City Hall. The winning bid from this RFP was awarded to
LinkPro, Inc. of Hickory. They installed a total of 12 directional,
24"x36", parabolic antennaes and 3 directional, 5"x40", Til-Tek
antennaes. This solution utilized BreezCom equipment for all
but the 3 Til-Tek antennaes on the towers. Our system is 11Mbps
with an effective throughput of 6+Mbps (after overhead) and
is designed according to IEEE 802.11b standards.
