Willow Oak — Quercus phellos
Location: Shuford House & Gardens, 534 3rd Ave NW
Shuford House was built in 1904 by A.A. Shuford. The city acquired the house and gardens in 1971 and it was declared a local landmark in 1987. This Willow Oak has a 17' circumference, is a focal point of the garden and has been witness to many weddings and events. |

This native tree is located in one of the smaller areas across from the main acreage of the park. Already mature before NC Hwy 127 was widened, a tree well was constructed around the base to protect it from the change in grade. |

This 35 year old tree is owned by Brenda Cline. The 60 foot tree was planted in 1975 and will be a legacy for her children and grandchildren. |

Lacebark Elm - Ulmus parvifolia
Location - 205 3rd St NE
This 70 foot tall lacebark elm is 85 to 90 years old and located adjacent to Ivey Arboretum. This tree was nominated by Mr. Gary Eklund and is appreciated by the apartment tenants as well as residents for its addition to the landscape. |
