Hickory Public Library Loan Periods

Most books, books on cassette, compact disks, and CD-ROMs are checked out to customers for three weeks, and may be renewed by telephone if there are no reserves on the material.

New books with high demand are checked out for one week, as are non-fiction videotapes. All other videos check out for a two-day period.

Overdue fees are charged on late material. Charges for overdue adult books are 10 cents per day per item. Children's books and cassettes are 5 cents per day per item. All other audiovisual materials, with the exception of videos are 10 cents per day per item. Overdue videos are $1.00 per day per item. Overdue Interlibrary Loan materials are 50 cents per day per item. Please be aware that loan periods vary for different items.

Customers who lose library materials must pay the replacement cost of the item, plus a $7.00 processing fee and accrued overdue fines.
