Patrick Beaver
Children's Department
The children's staff is always
available to assist children and adults in any way possible.

And between customers, they're
hard at work planning programs and other fun ideas for all our younger patrons.

Computer stations are available
for the children to surf the net, check out NCLive, or use the catalog.

"Edu-tainment" games
are also available.

And even the youngest children
have games available.

Along with all the computers,
the Children's Department also offers a wide selection and numerous copies of
the best children's literature available

and the ever-popular paperbacks
are here in ever-increasing numbers.

For the smaller customers, we
have a full array of picture books,
along with learning games and puzzles.

We have a variety of children's
cassettes.

Kits include books and
cassettes, so children can read along.

We also have a foreign language
collection,
featuring fourteen different languages, both for native speakers and those
learning a second language.

G-rated videos are housed in the
Children's department.

Juvenile audio books are also
here.

CD-Roms for children are checked
out constantly.

Patrick Beaver even has a
circulating toy collection - educational toys for preschoolers.

And for the parents and daycare
teachers,
there is a variety of resource material available on the Parent Shelf.

Digital copiers are available in
the Children's Department, Adult Fiction area, Reference area, and the Local
History room.
A color copier is also available in the Reference area.

Just outside the Children's
Department and around a corner are the stairs leading to the second
floor.
