Children's Concert Scheduled at Hickory Public Library

Young children are invited to a "Rug Concert" at Ridgeview Branch Library on Monday, March 14^th at 10:00 a.m.  The Degas String Quartet will entertain with their special music just for small children.  The program will include a story by Ridgeview Library's storyteller Eloise Rose, set to music by the quartet. Individuals and groups are invited to attend the free concert.

The Degas String Quartet is the guest quartet of the Western Piedmont Symphony. During their stay, they perform with the symphony, present in school concerts, and perform at various other venues. The "Rug Concert" is a special program that introduces children to classical music and instruments. The performances always include audience participation. Members of the quartet include James Dickenson, Violin; Tamaki Higashi, Violin; Simon Ertz, Viola; and Philip von Maltzahn, cello.
