Benjamin Franklin to Entertain Children at Hickory Public Library
Benjamin Franklin comes to life at Hickory Public Library in “The Magic of Reading”. Actor and educator Dr. Rich Davis portrays Ben Franklin in an entertaining and educational program celebrating the 300th birthday of one of our nation’s founding fathers. School aged children are invited to Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Tuesday, May 30th at 4:00 p.m. for this free program For the past twelve years Davis has been performing across the Southeast in character and dress as Ben Franklin. “The Magic of Reading” inspires children to acquire a love of knowledge and reading, while sharing some interesting facts about Franklin’s life and reenacting some of his scientific experiments. Come learn the secrets of one of the world’s best and most famous readers, Benjamin Franklin, as he discusses his life and achievements, and explains how to improve reading habits. While Davis is in town, Hickory Public Library is taking him into Hickory City Elementary Schools to present his program and to promote the library’s Summer Reading Program.
