Kindermusik® Programs Offered at Hickory Public Library

Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is offering three special music programs for young children. Kindermusik® teachers Shari Crabtree and Libby Teague will conduct the music class demonstrations during June for babies through 5 year olds. The free classes will replace the library’s regularly scheduled storytimes.

On Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Libby Teague will offer Kindermusik® Village for newborns to 1½ year olds. Shari Crabtree offers Kindermusik ® for children 18 months to 3 years on Tuesday, June 6th at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Three to five year olds can attend her class on Wednesday, June 14th at 11:00 a.m.

Kindermusik® Village is an engaging experience of learning and bonding for babies and their parents. A blend of activities and literature stimulates the babies’ growth and development, and engages all of their senses. Activities include creative movement, vocal play, and object and instrument exploration.

Kindermusik® uses specially developed activities and materials to introduce young children to the joys of music. The program enhances musical, physical, social, emotional and cognitive development, while aiding language development and nurturing the ability to listen attentively . Children will enjoy play with simple instruments, singing, rhythm and movement activities, and focused listening.

All Kindermusik® activities incorporate parent/child participation and each child must be accompanied by a parent or adult. The programs at the library are free, open to the public, and do not require pre-registration.

Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is located at 375 3rd Street NE on the SALT Block. For information call the children’s department at 304-0500 ext. 249.
