Evening Family Storytime Offered at Hickory Public Library
Hickory Public Library offers an evening Family Storytime during its summer schedule. The evening event offers working parents the opportunity to come to a library storytime with their children. Family Storytime is scheduled for Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. June 13 th through August 8 th at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library. The program is free and open to the public. Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is located at 375 3 rd Street NE on the SALT Block. Children and their parents are invited to come to the library each Tuesday to enjoy “Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales”. The programs will include stories, songs, finger play, activities and crafts – all based on a special theme. The themes for each week include: Perfect Pets, Animals on the Move, Teddy Bear Picnic, Something Fishy, Feathers and Furballs, On the Wild Side, and special guest professional storyteller Ron Jones. In addition to this special summer program, young children of all ages can participate in storytime programs designed especially for them at Hickory Public Library. Ridgeview Branch Library hosts storytime for 3 – 5 year olds each Monday at 10:00 a.m. Patrick Beaver Memorial Library offers “Baby Time” each Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for infants from birth to beginning walkers. “Sing & Play,” for toddlers through 3 year olds, is on Tuesdays at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. “Storytime” on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. is available for 2 to 5 year olds.
