Internet and Email Classes Offered at Hickory Public Library Hickory Public Library continues its free computer classes with two classes in March. Beginning Internet will be held on Tuesday, March 13 th from 6:45 – 8:15 p.m. Beginning Email will meet on Monday, March 19 th from 9:45 – 11:45 a.m. Both sessions will be held in the meeting room at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library, located at 375 3 rd Street NE on the SALT Block. Class size is limited to 10 and pre-registration is required. The Internet class covers topics for the beginner: mouse and keyboard usage, basic Web searching techniques, and use of search engines and Web browsers. Instruction is designed for those with no computer experience. If you have any experience, this class may be too basic for you. Participants in the Email class will learn to send and receive email, and to copy, forward and save emails to folders. Sending attachments will also be covered. Though there are many email providers, demonstrations will be conducted using Yahoo and participants may also register for a free email account on Yahoo during the class. Participants must have completed the Beginning Internet Class or have equivalent computer experience. For information or to register, call 304-0500 ext. 231.
