Tax Assistance Continues at the Hickory Public Library

Free tax preparation assistance is continuing at Hickory Public Library on Thursday mornings through April 12 th. Volunteers from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) are available to assist retires and middle to low-income citizens with their state and federal tax returns. Tax counseling is a program of AARP with the cooperation of the Internal Revenue Service.

Volunteers are available from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library. The library is located at 375 3 rd Street NE on the SALT Block. Those wishing to take advantage of the program may make an appointment in person at the reference desk or by calling 304-0500 ext. 231.

Tax assistance volunteers are also available at the Catawba County Library in Newton and at West Hickory Senior Center. For appointments at both locations call 328-2269.
