Tips On Buying A Computer Offered at Hickory Public Library

 Are you interested in purchasing a new computer system? Are you perplexed by computer terminology? If you are unsure what components are needed in a computer system or what they do, “ What You Need To Know Before You Buy A Computer"

class will demystify those questions and further your understanding of computer hardware. Hickory Public Library is offering the free class on Tuesday, may 8 th from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library.

Geared towards computer neophytes, no prior computer knowledge is presumed or needed, and class focus will be consumer oriented. The following topics will be covered: What Are The Components That Make Up A Computer And How Do They Work  (Understanding Terminologies); Different Features Of A Computer And Why Do I Need Or Not Need Them  (Speed, Memory Size, Monitor Type, etc.); How Printers Work And Which Features To Buy, How Internet Services Work and Which Kinds Work Best.

Informational handouts will be distributed and the program includes a question and answer session. Instructor Ron Dees is an experienced computer analyst, programmer and trainer.
