Legal Assistance Legal Aid of North Carolina Provides legal assistance in civil cases, some of which include Social Security Benefits, SSI, Food Stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, Housing, Veteran Benefits, Employment, Consumer, Wills, Living Wills and Power of Attorney. Do not handle criminal cases, traffic cases or cases which could generate a fee for a private attorney. In many cases offer only consultation and referral. Senior Citizens Law Project offers free civil legal services to those 60 years and older through Title III funding of the Older Americans Act. Many services offered at Senior Centers.
National Senior Citizens Law Center Serves Legal Aid offices and private lawyers who offer legal assistance to low-income older people; it does not accept individual clients.
