Financial assistance and social services for county citizens. Financial services for older adults include medical assistance, special assistance with cost of care in adult care homes, food stamps, help with heating bills, the distribution of commodity foods, assistance with the cost of adult day care services, and housing assistance. Social services include information and referral, in-home aide services, screening and care management, placement assistance (adult care homes and nursing homes), protective services, adaptive services for the visually impaired, congregate and home-delivered meals and transportation.

Assists in providing affordable housing to low income persons in Catawba County, with emphasis on assisting older adults.

 

Catawba County Local Governments offer housing rehabilitation programs for low-income older adults when funding is available.

Credit and counseling services to rural Americans to improve housing conditions and community facilities. Guarantees loans made by private lenders and provides a limited number of grants.
