Transportation Catawba County Department of Social Services Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Financial assistance and social services for county citizens. Financial services for older adults include medical assistance, special assistance with cost of care in adult care homes, food stamps, help with heating bills, the distribution of commodity foods, assistance with the cost of adult day care services, and housing assistance. Social services include information and referral, in-home aide services, screening and care management, placement assistance (adult care homes and nursing homes), protective services, adaptive services for the visually impaired, congregate and home-delivered meals and transportation.
Catawba County Home Health Agency Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day Comprehensive home health care including nursing, nursing specialties, home health aide, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, medical social work, nutritional therapy, and psychiatric nursing. The agency also provides and/or arranges durable medical equipment, preparation of third party billing, personal care services, meals-on-wheels, necessary medical supplies, home care coordinator, private duty services, homemaker services, and transportation.
Geri-Go-Round Transportation of the handicapped, elderly, children and/or adults to various destinations; for those unable to avail themselves of transportation.
Handi-Care, Inc. Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Provides services to the elderly and disabled individuals that may have personal homecare needs. Offers non-emergency transportation for medical and other appointments, social outings, etc. Eldercare consulting - offers assistance in arranging and locating necessary services for any home-bound individual. Provides in-home-aides for the CAP, PCS, COG, and private pay homecare programs. Adult-Day Contact provides a day to day visit or call to check on the wellbeing of home-bound clients when family members are away. Sitter/Companion/Respite-Relief services to families. Offers used medical equipment at no charge to any individual for as long as needed as long as the equipment is returned when no longer needed. Licensed homecare provider. Employment opportunities for retired healthcare workers.
Piedmont Wagon Regular fixed route bus service: 6:00am - 6:00pm, Monday-Friday; 8:00am - 4:00pm Saturday. For schedule and route information, contact the office. Paratransit service for the elderly and disabled. Curb to curb service is provided for individuals who qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA, the Elderly and Disabled Transportation Assistance Program (EDTAP) and Title III of the Older Americans Act.
