Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Unit
In July 2006, the Hickory Police Department developed the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault unit funded by a grant received from the North Carolina Governor’s Crime Commission. This unit is dedicated to improve investigations and prosecution of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault cases in Hickory. The Domestic Violence/ Sexual Assault Unit consists of MPO Dustin Nowatka and Officer Marisa Rogers and works closely with Hickory Police Department's Victim Services Coordinator Aleia Fox. The unit’s primary objective is to improve outcomes for crimes against women to include rape, domestic violence abuse, assault and stalking.
