In addition to serving the community as the Chief of Police and as a volunteer, Chief Adkins served in the United States Army Reserves for 21 years.  He began his military service in 1984 as a Military Police Officer, and over his career he served as Battalion Supply Sergeant, and was mobilized for Operation “Enduring Freedom,” where he served at Fort Jackson, SC.
