Captain Jay Jackson
Captain Jay Jackson joined the City of Hickory Police Department in August of 1997 as a police officer. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2001, Lieutenant in 2002 and promoted to Captain in 2006. Jackson has served the department as an officer, Investigator in General Investigations, Sergeant of Special Investigations and Inspections, Patrol Commander of Baker PACT and served as a team leader of the Special Operations Team. Prior to his service with Hickory Police Department Jackson served as an agent with Alcohol Law Enforcement in Winston Salem, Hickory and as a member of their Special Operations unit.
His educational background includes an BS Degree in Criminal Justice from ASU. He has also continued with graduate studies at the University of Virginia and ASU. Jackson is a graduate of the 220th Session of the FBI National Academy.
Captain Jackson is a member of the Catawba County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, NC FBI National Academy of Associates, National Emergency Number Association, International Association of Chief’s of Police and Catawba County Public Safety Information Team. He has previously served as a board member for the Catawba County Family Guidance Center and Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County. Captain Jackson, his wife Amy and their two children live in Hickory.
