Pee Wee Girls and Boys Basketball

Registration for Pee Wee Girls and Boys Basketball is now underway at the Hickory Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices located at 1451 8th St. Dr. NE, between the hours of

8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Pee Wee Basketball Program is open to anyone 9 and 10 years old, who will not be 11 before October 15, 2008.

Only those players aging up a division or new players must attend one skills assessment session in order to be placed on a team. Skills assessment locations, dates and times are listed below:

Highland Recreation Center – 1451 8th St. Dr. NE

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11 Girls 5:30 Boys 6:30

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13 Girls 5:30 Boys 6:30

All players living outside the city limits of Hickory must pay a $40.00 non-resident fee. All players must pay their non-resident fee if required, bring a copy of their birth certificate, if not already on file and have a parent or guardian present at time of registration. Those children who have previously participated in Parks and Recreation Department programs may register by telephone.

All children participating are encouraged to purchase accident insurance coverage. The $6.00 insurance covers the participant for a one-year period from March 1, 2008 until February 28, 2009 in all activities sponsored and supervised by the Parks and Recreation Department. The $250,000 coverage is primary coverage that pays regardless of other insurance, directly to the participant, doctor, or hospital. The insurance must be paid at the time of registration.
